I brought this series for you to come-up with the inspirational stories in the field of music. Most of my time I spent hearing Bollywood Hindi music. Being born in the era of 90s in Hindi speaking family my inspirational stories are influenced mostly by Bollywood music composers, lyricist, singers and musicians. Though I will cover stories from all around the world in the area of music, right now as we are starting-off I will start with Bollywood or most appropriately should call it Indian Music (Hindi Music).

Indian Music did blossom after post-independence and we miss to mention those great musicians who did prepare the base of our music industry. This industry is now believed to be somewhere around 2000 crore INR and all thanks to the great work done by all the musicians since the beginning.

Post India’s independence we divide our music evolution in 4 eras.

• Beginning of Golden Era (1950-1970)
• Evolving Era (1970-1985)
• Commercial Era (1985-2000)
• Millennial Era (2000-Now)

In next set of blog-posts we are going to cover these music eras very much in detail. Stay tuned. Right now, I will leave you with some fun fact below.

Fun Fact: First song believed to be recorded was in 1902 by ‘Gauhar Jaan’ and first movie was ‘Alam Ara’ released in 1931 and prior to that there were silent movies. First silent film was produced in 1913 ‘Raja Harishchandra’ Directed and Produced by our very own DadaSaheb Phalke
